Farm walk at the Williamson family dairy farm near Scarva exploring breeding, grazing and forage management in the UK Dairy Carbon Network (UK-DCN).

Join the UK-DCN for a farm walk on the dairy farm of Ivan, Elaine and Lewis Williamson near Scarva. This event will provide an opportunity to see how practical changes in breeding and grassland management can help improve efficiency on a commercial dairy farm.

The Williamson family milk 90 autumn-calving Holsteins and place a strong focus on making the most of grazing and home-grown forage. During the walk, the UK-DCN Farm Liaison Team will discuss breeding decisions, genomic information, reseeding strategies and grass management.

The event will also provide an opportunity to meet other farmers involved in the project and hear about the work of the UK-DCN. A light lunch will be provided for those who register in advance.
